Thus far the show has been showing municipal politics in a fairly amusing and made-for-television way. Shin Mi Rae's hijinks would have gotten her fired right about the time she started making false claims about her relationship with the deputy mayor but it makes for good television. What I do think is fairly accurate is the way in which the Inju public is largely apathetic about its own politics, enjoying the pageant and spectacular fallout from that; the public accepts Mir Rae as a personality but doesn't care so much about the internal dealings of the government itself.
